Chris Simms Charged with Smoking and Driving

The last few weeks have been the weeks of the NFL quarterbacks.  First you had Vince Youngs' strip club fight; then there was Michael Vick's birthday bash shooting.  Now Chris Simms was charged with driving while impaired by drugs in New York City.

Chris Simms Marijuana Charges

Chris Simms was stopped at a police checkpoint Thursday. According to police, there was an odor of pot, Simms had blood shot eyes and he admitted to smoking pot. Simms contends that he was talking about smoking cigarettes. Simms was released without bail and is due back in court August 23.

Outside of a Manhattan courthouse, Chris Simms said the case is "very weak." His attorney says that the odor could have been from two unidentified persons in the back of the car. Also in the car was Simm's 8 month pregnant wife. His attorney went on to state that there is nothing in Simms record of such blatant irresponsibility.
